About Author

Where do I start? Getting kicked out of two countries (Italy and Brazil)? Camping across Canada out of the back of a VW Beetle when I was ten? How about living in both France – with a Parisian balcony view of the Eiffel Tower or Milan Italy – playing in a rock band in between weekend ski trips?  Yeah, I’ve done a lot and it sounds like one big adventure. But there were other moments: fourteen schools, the result of a lot of moving and for a short time living close to the edge of poverty: a working mom who knew how to stretch a dollar, who refused to give up and kept us afloat.

The Brazilian thing? That is a whole other story and I’ll tell it someday…

Adulthood brought different adventures – racing cars, lots more skiing, international travel, oh yeah and marriage, kids and a mortgage. It all adds up to a life well lived. I always hope that when I read printed words on a page, the writer has a little bit of cred; as in, they’ve lived at least a tiny portion of the ideas they expound on. At least you hope they did. But writing – where the heck did that come from? I had no plans to become a writer, but a brush with death after a really bad skiing accident gave me pause to think about what was important, putting some context on the ‘life well lived’. I felt the need to give something back and I have; the series of books about my hero – Marc Lange. Enjoy!
